Basement Remodeling & Finished Basements in Wrightstown, PA

A Rural Township With a Newtown Address

Wrightstown Township's borders were set back in 1692, and it still has a rural feel, with five small villages spread across the township. About half the township gets its mail through the Newtown post office, so a Newtown address does not always mean Newtown Township. Wrightstown has its own permit office, so we confirm which township your home is in before any permit work starts.

Basement Permits in Wrightstown

Wrightstown's Zoning, Code, and Land Development Department handles permits for home improvements, including structural changes, fireplaces, and wood or coal stoves. Building inspections are by appointment only, so they need to be planned into the schedule. We pull every permit and book every inspection ahead of time so your project keeps moving.

What Gets Inspected

Wrightstown's code lists the stages a home project is checked at, including framing, insulation, close up and wall board, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and a final inspection. Each stage has to pass before the next one is covered up. See the full order in our guide on how to finish a basement.

Planning Around a Well or Septic System

The township also regulates on-lot septic systems and new wells. If your home has its own septic system, plan any basement bathroom with that in mind from the start. Moisture comes first in every basement, and any basement bedroom needs an egress window. Read our guide to basement egress requirements.
